The Goan culture is a rich blend of eastern and western traditions, influences and art forms. It is a constantly evolving culture, which has lately created waves in the international music scene with a vibrant and psychedelic form of music known as Goa Trance. The Portuguese influence is evident in almost all forms of the Goan way of life, from its cuisine to its dance forms. Needless to say, the 500 yr occupation has left an impact that cannot be undermined.
